The AI Mail Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-10-08
App: The AI Mail (iPhone, iPad, Mac)

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") set out the conditions for using "The AI Mail" (the "App"), provided by エイカ (Eika; representative: Akira Iizuka; "we"). By using the App, you ("you" or the "user") agree to these Terms. The Japanese version of these Terms is the governing version; this English version is provided for convenience.

1. What the App does

The App sorts the mail in your Gmail inbox into "対応が要る" (Needs action), "目を通す" (Worth a look) and "片付けた" (Cleared), using AI that runs on your device together with fixed rules, and shows summaries and to-dos for your mail. Following your instructions, or the "自動で片付ける" (Clear automatically) setting if you turn it on, the App makes these changes to your Gmail:

Turning "自動で片付ける" on also archives the mail in "Cleared" that is still in your inbox, and the setting applies to your other devices signed in to the same account.

2. Your Google Account

The App accesses your Gmail only within the permissions you grant on Google's sign-in screen. You must sign in only with Google Accounts you have the right to use. You can revoke the App's access at any time from your Google Account's linked apps page (https://myaccount.google.com/linkedapps).

Google's terms of service apply to your use of your Google Account and Gmail.

3. Fees

The App is free.

4. AI sorting and summaries

Sorting, summaries, to-dos and deadlines are produced automatically by on-device AI and rules, and we do not guarantee that they are accurate. An important message may end up in "Cleared", and a summary or deadline may differ from the message. Check the original message before making important decisions.

Archived mail is not deleted; it stays in Gmail's "All Mail", and you can move it back with "受信トレイに戻す" (Move to inbox) in the App or in Gmail. Mail moved to the trash is permanently deleted by Gmail after 30 days. Unsubscribing tells the sender your request; what happens next is up to the sender.

5. Prohibited conduct

When using the App, you must not:

6. Changes, interruption and discontinuation

We may change the App, or interrupt or end its availability, without notice. Changes to or outages of the Google services the App relies on (such as the Gmail API) may make some or all of the App unusable.

7. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

We do not guarantee that the App is free of defects, that it fits your purpose, or that its sorting and summaries are accurate.

We are not liable for damage arising from your use of the App, except where it is caused by our intent or gross negligence. However, where the contract between you and us is a consumer contract under Japan's Consumer Contract Act, this exclusion does not apply; for damage caused by our negligence that is neither intentional nor gross (simple negligence), we compensate only direct and ordinary damage.

8. Privacy

How the App handles information is described in the Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may change these Terms when needed. Before a change takes effect, we will announce on this page what changes and the date it takes effect.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. The Tokyo District Court has exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance for any dispute relating to the App.
